Dan's overall objective is to help clients become, and remain, financially independent through all types of economic conditions. When working with new clients, he begins with a thorough analysis of circumstances and goals. Portfolios are then structured based on this analysis, and managed for the appropriate rate of return commensurate with prudent risk tolerance.
As a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Financial Planner®, Dan has the technical training to complement his 29 years of experience managing investment portfolios. He considers the development of long-term relationships and watching clients reach their investment goals as his greatest professional achievements.
Dan started his career with Merrill Lynch in 1980. Later, he joined Prudential Securities and Smith Barney before moving his investment practice to Umpqua Investments.
Dan grew up in Alaska and earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Oregon. In his free time he enjoys travel, athletics, and coaching youth basketball. Dan and his wife Andrea have been married for 28 years and have two daughters.
